It's a Boy!

We just came back from our Dr. visit and are very happy to announce we are having a boy. So it turns out most people were right about their gender prediction (including me and abuela). Jenn originally thought it was a girl but began to change her mind over the past few days. She didn't want to be convinced one way or the other, only to be disappointed.

I have no idea how the Dr. could decipher the gender from the funky bubbly shapes on the ultra sound but she was firmly certain. We could see the baby moving and it looked like he was chewing or something. I was disappointed with the ultrasound printouts from this visit. They dont really look like anything except one looks like Bart Simpson dressed up as Batman. From the doctor's perspective the anatomical structures in the ultra sound are obvious, but to us its like looking at code in the Matrix.

We have a level II sonogram appointment on July 15th. They use a super detailed ultra-sound to analyze and measure the anatomy of the baby, uterus, and umbilical cord. They check for any abnormalities and ensure growth is progressing normally. I'm very excited about this appointment and I hope we get some great images similar to week 12.

Some other good news the sequential screening tests came back and the results look good.
