Books

There are plenty of books for mommies to be but slim pickings for daddy.

The Expectant Father
One book I am reading is The Expectant Father: Facts, Tips, Advice for Dads-to-Be. Its a great positive book covering many aspects of what typical fathers to be go through during the pregnancy. I was surprised to learn that men also go through physiological changes, even hormonal! There is great emphasis on how I can help support my wife emotionally which I would have never realized on my own.

Unfortunately the book is dated (May 2001) so I need to verify some info especially the medical procedures. For example, for episiotomy it states "About 90 percent of women delivering for the first time under an obstetrician's care have an episiotomy". I was reading the latest What to Expect When You're Expecting and it states that episiotomy is no longer performed very often.

My Boys Can Swim!
My boys Can Swim! but what if we're having a girl? I thought the title was funny so I picked up the book. I read like 10 pages and felt like it was geared toward meatheads so I tossed it aside.
